I am Peter Kakoma, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the realms of telecom, software engineering, and financial technology. My journey in the tech world began with a significant tenure at MTN Uganda, Africa’s largest telecom company, where I led initiatives to design, build, and support software systems catering to over 10 million customers. Notably, I spearheaded the development of MTN Uganda’s loyalty platform, which swiftly grew to serve 4 million users and also setting up the in-house infrastructure for data and voice bundle provisioning.
At Andela, an international software development firm, I embraced the role of Senior Technical Consultant, leading technical teams and being one of the mentors for developers across Africa.
As the founder of Kanzu Code Limited, I get to take part in creating innovative digital solutions serving regional and multinational organizations, and impacting millions of customers.
Kanzu Finance Limited, through Kanzu Banking, is revolutionizing financial management for Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs), banks, and investment clubs.
Through the Kanzu Code Foundation, a non-profit organisation I founded, young people across Africa are being trained in the field of software engineering.
I am a certified Straight Forward Financial Growth (SFFG) coach, committed to changing personal financial narratives by empowering individuals towards wealth creation.
My wife and I have the honor to serve as elders in Worship Harvest Ministries as well as lead missional communities, which are fellowship groups that follow the mission of Jesus Christ together.
I was honoured to be named one of the top 50 African Business Heroes in 2021 by the Jack Ma Foundation and my goal is to continue leveraging technology to foster financial empowerment and innovation, both in Uganda and globally.
